Windshire Park Irrigation System Update

Thank you to those of you who contacted us regarding the dry common areas.  From July 3 to July 8, the District conducted an experiment to determine if watering the common areas at the same time as residents’ water their individual lawns impacts the water pressure at individual homes.  It was determined that it likely does have an impact and to that end, the District will be watering the common areas overnight, except when system testing is needed.

After investigating the low-pressure issues with our irrigation systems, we have discovered one of the problems originates within the well house meter located in each resident’s backyard.  Over time, debris from the non-potable system accumulates in the meter head filter, causing reduced water pressure.

To address this issue, the filter in the meter head needs to be cleaned or removed.  If the meter and filter are removed, an 8-inch riser and an inline API filter with a 300-mesh screen should be installed future debris buildup.  Please note this repair is to be made at the homeowner’s expense and will not be undertaken by the District.

We also recommend removing all screens at the sprinkler heads to prevent any small slime or debris buildup from obstructing water flow.

We understand this expense or expertise may be concerning for some homeowners, however, we felt it is important to pass along what has been learned since the beginning of the irrigating season.

Thank you and have a great day!

Shannon Torgerson, District Manager

Non-Potable Water Update – May 20, 2024

Good morning, Windshire!

We received an update from the District’s landscape vendor this morning – The water pumps should be back on mid-day today, May 20 so those of you who are scheduled to water on Tuesday’s should have water.  All master valves are being tested today to ensure water flow to homeowner property.

Further, the pond is filling from the ditch, so there should be no further interruptions is service.

Non-Potable Water Update – May 17, 2024

Thank you for your email regarding non-potable water issues.  We have reported the follow areas with multiple concerns to the landscaper:

Yellow, Zone 5 (north side of Edenbridge Drive).

Pink, Zone 1 (west side of Botley Court, north side Highfield Drive).

Blue, Zone 6 (entire Kelmsley Ct. cul-de-sac).

Orange, Zone 2 (east side of Camberly Drive).

Green, Zone 3 (east side of Charlton Drive).

Blue, Zone 6 (east aside of Camberly Drive).

Blue, Zone 6 (south side of Windshire Drive).

Green, Zone 3 (north side of Basildon Ct).

Pink, Zone 1 (entire Harpendon Ct cul-de-sac).

As soon as an update is available, we’ll notify owners through TownSq, broadcast emails and the District’s website.

Further, river water is expected to be available late Sunday, which is several weeks earlier than normal.  Please continue to follow the 3 day per week watering schedule with no more than 20 minutes per zone.

Thank you and have a great day!

Non-Potable Water System Update

Thank you to all the residents who have called or emailed regarding no water running through the non-potable water system in their areas.  Each home is recommended to check the system has been turned on at their property, the inline filters have been checked and cleared of debris and that sprinkler heads are also clear of debris.  If your neighbors have water to their system, water is most likely running through your system as well.  The District, nor its landscape vendor, will check individual properties.

The District’s landscaper has been working hard to ensure all the areas are active, however, as river water has not been received yet, the pond is nearly empty.  Please significantly reduce non-potable water usage until further notice.

2024 3-Day Non-Potable Home Irrigation Schedule

The non-potable irrigation system will be activated for the season on May 15. Please be aware parts of it are active today as we find and make any necessary repairs. If you don’t have water on your scheduled watering day after May 15, please notify management at cdwpmmanager@goodwin-co.com.

If you see any irrigation issues on the District’s common spaces, please call 855-289-6007 and follow the prompts to reach the manger if after hours. If during normal business hours, please call 720-647-6541. DO NOT EMAIL about irrigation issues on the District’s common spaces unless it is not an emergency.
