Non-Potable Water

The non-potable water system will be turned on in late May when water is available (which depends on the winter/spring runoff). Homeowners registered on the website will be notified by e-mail along with the days and times their system can be run.

Non-potable/Home Irrigation Water Fee

Windshire Park Metro Districts operate the non-potable water system for home irrigation. Homeowners are charged a monthly fee for non-potable water during the months of May through October of each year. Rates are approved by the Board of Directors. There is no pro-rating of non-potable water when restrictions are in place. Residents pay actual cost or less for operations and maintenance of the non-potable water system. The non-potable water system is turned on after the river water that feeds our storage pond is running. The date changes from year to year based on prior year’s snowfall/weather conditions. Non-potable water will normally be turned on in late May. Non-potable water shuts down the 3rd Friday of October and the system is blown out on the 3rd Saturday of October.

The Board approved non-potable water rate is $252.00 per year. Water billing of $42.00 per month begins late May with the final payment on October 1st. Rates are subject to change.

Turning on the Non-Potable Water Irrigation System

The non-potable water system will be turned on in late May or early June. Exactly when the water is turned on depends on when the river water that feeds our storage pond is running. The date changes from year to year based on the prior year’s snowfall/weather conditions.

Winterization of the Non-Potable Water Irrigation System

The third Saturday in October is the blow out day for the entire non-potable water system. The system is shut-off on the day before the blowout to allow the contractor time to hook up air compressors and to open and close necessary valves in order to accomplish this blow out on such a large system. See below the attached blow out schedule.

This scheduled blow out of the non-potable water system is your opportunity to blow out your privately owned irrigation system.
